Sounds like you had to learn some lessons the hard way! Funny, I can relate to that to a certain degree…
Congratulations on stepping up to the plate and simply doing what needed to be done. Keep up the great work! It will pay off, and I’m so glad you shared your story with the rest of us. You may have no idea how many people you affected by opening yourself up like that.
Jolyn: Thanks for your comment! Some lessons are only learned the hard way. Sometimes it is easy to look at things from the outside and take away a life lesson, and other times a person has to find themselves stuck in a bad place before they realize they are making a mistake. Thankfully I was able to learn my lesson before things got really bad. I mean, things were bad given my income but could have been much, much worse than they were.
Steven,
I read your article on GRS and its very well written and to the point and I decide to visit your blog. I really enjoy reading your 100 goals and I start to think what other goals I have for myself beside financial goals? I star to realize life is too short and lot need to be done.
Keep up good work.
Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you enjoyed my article on GRS, it was really an honor to have it hosted at such a prominent financial blog. I hope that if only in some small way, someone reading my story is able to see that their situation isn’t the end of the world and that it is possible to pull yourself up from what can feel like the clutches of Hell.
There is a lot to be done and financial stability is a great place to start. Without creating a stable foundation with our finances, our ability to pursue other ambitions is restricted, if not entirely eliminated. But, like you mention, there is more to life than the dollar bill (or Euro or Peso…).
