September 30, 2011 94 Comments

Thanks to everyone’s who participated in the contest! The response has been terrific, and reading everyone’s goals has been so inspiring! I wish I could give everyone $100, but alas I’m not a rich man! Congratulations to our lucky winner, Kristen Schoonover! I hope you’ll find a way of putting the money to good use! Thanks again everyone for making this contest a success!
I want to help you accomplish your goals, which is why I’m giving $100 to one lucky reader! That’s right! Cash money, to do whatever you want. All you have to do to enter the contest is:
- Tell me what’s on your Bucket List! Leave a comment below, and/or;
- Share this contest on Twitter! (Please post a link to the tweet.) Just retweet the following:
I just entered to win $100 with @HundredGoals ”What’s on your #BucketList?” contest! Enter here: http://wp.me/pqt96-1zu
- And/or, blog about this contest and leave a link to the post in the comments.
The more you do, the more chances you have to win!
To get things started, I’m going to share the Top 5 goals on my list:
- Join the Peace Corps - If you’ve been following Hundred Goals lately, you know that I’ve been
a little confusedscared shitless about leaving the comfort of my life for two years to do volunteer work in Africa. I think I’m finally over it, and I’m ready to go! I’m just waiting for my invitation. - Climb Mount Kilimanjaro – I’ve done a lot of amazing things in life, but I don’t feel like I’ve been pushed to the edge of my limits by any of it. I think climbing Kilimanjaro might do that. Besides, Tanzania looks like a beautiful country…and who doesn’t love that!?
- Earn my Bachelors Degree - Graduation is just around the corner…and I’m ready! Come December, my entire life is going to change as I’m thrust into “The Real World.” And it’s going to be amazing!
- Travel to Cuba – If there’s one thing I really hate about being American, it’s that my government forbids me from traveling to Cuba. But I’m not going to let that stop me. I will go…oh, yes…I will go.
- Throw a Hand Grenade - This is the most recent addition to my list, and it’s one that I’m really excited to accomplish. It just seems like a lot of fun, kind of like jumping out of an airplane! The rush of excitement, the adrenaline…I live for that!
Now it’s your turn! What’s on your Bucket List?
The contest will run until Friday, October 21, 2011 and a winner will be randomly selected using a number generator. The winner will be notified via email, so be sure to enter a valid email address when submitting your comments.
Good luck! And thanks for entering! If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me directly!

Hi Steven – let me introduce you to my own bucket list site, http://www.bucketquiz.com Take the quiz and get inspired around creating your own bucket list. Do it now because life is short!
This is awesome! Here is a link to my Bucket List:
http://nerdfitness.com/community/showthread.php?3015-bananandrea-s-list-of-impossible-things
I like to think all of these are realistic:
1. Close down SeaWorld
2. Get a degree
3. Watch dolphins/whales in the wild
4. Go on a world wide adventure with my son when he is older
5. Write a Xmas number 1 hit that still gets played 30 years later
They’re as realistic as you want them to be! And I’d love you to accomplish them all! I hope I can help inspire you to make them happen!
This is an awesome giveaway dude!!
The current item on my bucket list that I’d love to accomplish is in my mind’s bucket list. Does that make sense? Like, my current list on my blog is my 101 in 1,001 but the list I haven’t had time to publish (aka the bucket list) has one major item on there… Which is travel to India. I’m so fascinated with that country right now, I want to go out & buy the Frommer’s guide which is HUGE this year and just learn everything I can about going there.
Anyway it’s like super ridiculously expensive, so your awesomely awesome giveaway would go straight into savings for that trip. :)
Also I’ve got a blog post going up in the next 15 minutes and I’ve most certainly mentioned your giveaway. You can find it at http://www.imlivinginadream.wordpress.com… Whenever it goes live. Like soonish!
Edit by Steven: Adding a link to your Tweet, for both our benefits!
Well, $100 would be a drop in the Bucket for a trip to India, but it might help out on the Frommer’s guide!

1. Stand on the Rock of Gibralter
2. Tour Anne Franks House in Amsterdam

I’m looking at Africa right now if the Peace Corps doesn’t work out, and flights are stupid expensive. It almost breaks my heart because I want to go to Tanzania so bad right now! Like Erin said, maybe we’ll just have to save up specifically for that. How I loathe specific savings goals! ;)

Edit from Steven: Just going to add a link to your Tweet so I don’t forget about it!
The only thing that I really want to do before I die is watch my son grow up and have a family of his own. I know that might seem boring to some but it is what I hope for. Also, I would like to go back to school for nursing but I intend to get the ball rolling on that one real soon.

I don’t have an awesome blog to share my list, but I do have a super yellow piece of paper with goals written in marker. I call it my “Just Do It (Before You Get Too Old) List” and I’ve already accomplished several things. Here are my top five to do soon:
1- Get a shoulder/arm tattoo (and wear it well!)
2- Finish my doctorate (2013, I hope!)
3- Attend the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C.
4- Attend a Chicago Cubs game (just to feel the energy in Wrigley Field!)
5- Finally really let some deserving person have a piece of my mind (responsibly, of course). I’m a pretty passive and easy going person, so this is a big deal for me.
No need for an awesome blog to do awesome things in life! I’d love to see the Cherry Blossoms in Japan sometime (any excuse to travel, ya know!?) Thanks for sharing!
Can I vote for someone instead of me? I like Tanya Durrant’s goal to “close down sea world” and i think it is right in line with your beliefs Steven.
I had a bunch of goals – things I wanted to accomplish “before I was 50″ – and I’ve done them. I would have to say that my bucket list (?) would be to be able to think up some new goals. Of course I would like to travel some more – I would like to be able to go to Mexico without hearing everyone say I was crazy – I would like to be able to retire to South American (where to be determined) but I really don’t have a bucket list. I only ever feel that I have this one day. Today. And I just have to get up and do what’s in front of me. Today.
LOVE that you keep coming up with new goals. My goal is to figure out some new goals :)
Hey, it looks like you’ve got some things you want to do in life, and while you might not call it a “Bucket List” (personally, I hate the term), you’ve got goals! And that’s what matters! If you happen to win, you’re free to do as you choose with the money. If that means giving it to Tanya, that’s totally up to you! That’s how I roll!
1) gondola ride in Venice
2) ride a mechanical bull
3) learn a foreign language
4) visit south africa
5) whale watching in Alaska…

3. Travel to Italy & Ireland……to find my roots :)
4. Lose 100 pounds
5. Save a life
If you get into nursing, you’ll be saving lives all the time!

1) Kayak the Milford Sound
2) Set foot on all seven continents
3) Get a PA degree
4) Have no credit card debt (From Steven: How about NO DEBT AT ALL!?)
