The first time I shot a machine gun was three years ago while on vacation in Lake Havasu City. The thirty round mag was emptied in a matter of seconds. It was so much fun that even before the last bullet was fired I knew I’d be doing it again…just as soon as I’d have the chance. That chance happened a couple of weeks ago when I flew into Las Vegas (I guess the city isn’t completely worthless.)
This time I wanted to shoot something a little “bigger” than the Uzi I’d shot before. My weapon of choice against the zombie clown was the M249 SAW. After standing in line for about an hour, it was finally time to unload. I pulled the gun up to my shoulder, aimed right between the clown’s eyes and squeezed the trigger. After a couple of quick bursts, the gun malfunctioned and had to be reloaded. After the problem was fixed, I assumed the firing position again and let the lead fly.
It didn’t take long for the bullets to run out…and for the clown to have more than a few holes in its face.
I have to say, I’d do it again…
