I’m going to Space and I want to take you with me!
So maybe I’m not really going to Space, and maybe I can’t actually take you with me. But this is the closest most of us will ever have to reaching our dream of Space travel.
I’m collecting donations to send a high-altitude weather balloon more than 100,000 feet above the surface of the Earth into “near space.”
I need your help to raise $1,000 so I can get this project off the ground … literally!
Your donations will be used to equip our Spaceship with an HD Camera that will film the entire journey, from launch to landing, an Eagle Flight Computer (to record external temperature and pressure, altitude, direction of travel and ground speed) and a SPOT 2 Satellite Tracking Device so we can recover the Spaceship after it’s returned to Earth.
What’s in it for you?
A contribution of $5 will keep you in the loop with regular email updates about the project, our build, the launch and results. You will also be granted access to our Google Maps page on launch day to follow the path of our balloon as it happens!
Ten dollars gets you everything $5 does and it puts your name into the History Books of this amazing flight. Donor names will be listed on the Flight Manifest that will be carried inside the payload of our craft.
Those who contribute $25 or more get to send a photo of their choice to the edge of Space inside the payload of our craft. Your photo will be sent to Heaven and mailed back to you along with a letter describing the details of the trip and a photo taken at the apex of the flight. (And everything that’s included in a donation of $10.)
The expected launch window is currently set for October 12 – 13. Your contribution will help make this project possible and will give you a First Class ticket into Space.
